Comedy/Indie Comedy: Visioneers- 2007

Visioneer George Washington Winsterhammerman (Zach Galifianakis) lives a comfortable but monotonous life in this slightly futuristic black comedy. But when people start exploding from stress and George is showing early symptoms, he's forced to examine his life. Ok,... So, the description sounds funny, right? And, it's got Zach Galifainakis in it, and he's a funny dude, so this should be pretty good, right? Well,... unfortunately that is not so much the case with this one. Perhaps my expectations were a bit to high going into it, leaving me feeling a little let down in the laughter department. The only redeeming quality about this movie was that the storyline itself was an original idea, and definitely an interesting concept, but the execution was far too slow moving, and just seemed to take too long to get to anything of substance. I wouldn't really suggest this, nor would I endorse it, but, it was a decent idea, and the acting itself was not bad, so it's not completely lacking worth watching at all.

Comedy: Labor Pains- 2009

How does someone go about keeping a job that they just aren't that good at? Why, pretend to be pregnant, get the sympathy, keep the job, and get cut a little slack for the lack of quality work. but wait, forgetting one thing that comes along with that lie, TOTAL insanity, and a whole lot of trouble!

Grade: C+

Ok, this was cute, the acting was average, and honestly, it was a little hard to take Lindsay Lohan seriously as a business minded "go-getter", but, that's neither here nor there, it did make me laugh, and the story did keep me interested. In other words, it wasn't BAD, per say, I mean, I didn't turn it off or anything, but, it wasn't that great either.

Comedy: Bongwater- 1997

Luke Wilson stars as David, a pot-smoking artist who's desperately in love with sensual Serena. Sadly, the two have a misunderstanding and -- just as David's house burns to the ground -- Serena dumps him in favor of junkie Tommy (Jamie Kennedy). David's motley crew of weed-breathing buddies will have to suffice as the stoned artist figures out how to forget his ladylove and his scorched home, while Serena attempts to find herself in New York. First of all I would like to call "shenanigans"!! There was a total misrepresentation, leading me to believe that this was going to be some kind of stoner movie. Surprisingly, this movie was full of recognisable celebrities, who, as far as the acting, where pretty good in this movie. The story line however,.... Not so great. Sure, it had it's moments; funny at times, touching at times, horrifying at times. There was nothing about these characters that made me like them, or remotely care about what happened to them. Did I hate it? I wouldn't go that far, but would I watch it again, no. And that's what I have to say about that...
